I would like to say that I have experienced the pressure and harassment from the Parish. I have a property which I bought in October of 2006 and completely refubished so I could sell, but with the market for sells in the area not doing so well I wanted to rent it out to help out Katrina victims have a nice house to call home. I experience the headache of the electric being turned off and having to make arragements for the family to say in a hotel until I could get power restored to the home, but the Parish refused to do so telling me they would turn on the power if I moved out the renters. So at the time I had no choice and the renter had to relocate again and when the house was empty so then the Parish checked to make sure it was empty and they released the hold for power to my property. Since I have had to make payments on the house for now going on 4 months because the market for sells are so low I haven't been able to sell. All I tried to do is help out the area and Katrina victims and I fill that my rights to do so have been taken away. It is very upsetting to me because I thought this was America land of the free. So tell me this how can somebody shut off power to a home with a hard working family living in it with kids. The renter paid their bills and did not cause any problems they were happy to finally have a place to live. We must fight back for our rights and keep America for what it stands for.

David Peralta, the parish's chief administrative officer has told the paper that everyone has been approved for the permissive use permit that is so not true. Talking with the FHAC that there are several homeowners that have applied and been denied. Also he has said that we are wanting the courts to bail out the investors because of failed investments which is not true we would have no problems with the investments if the Parish understood the Constitution and the rights that we have in this country. I do know that the truth will come out and the courts will know that homeowners have been turned down and our rights have been taken away.
